An Ode to the Winter that just won't quit.
Happy Mid Week To You All!
About Laybells: This is something I wanted to toy around with. We all have labels attached to everything we do. Who we are, where we come from, what ideologies we hold. And those labels have an effect on the way other perceive us, and how we perceive the world. So, why not make a comic about talking boards with arbitrary words written on them?
This series will come around and again. As always, thanks for stopping by, and I look forawrd to seeing you here next week!
Hello there everyone!
I have a correction to make in the first panel: "THE GUY WHO TELLS ME WHAT TO DO". That's the joy of doing things in pen and not proofreading.
It's been a minute since I've updated this site. As I said before, still getting used to the squarespace shindig and also clearing off my plate of other projects that have fallen far beyond the side. This comic was an inspiration from the so many office jobs I've held. There is a well of inspiration to draw from when it comes to corporate office jobs. So keep an eye out for that general theme.
Come back next week for a brand new comic. I'll have it ready for you by then. I'm also trying to get a service set up that will email you when new updates come out. Otherwise go off and enjoy your day!
Centipede - Feb 18
And thus it begins! The weekly comic of ZachDoodles.
My site is still under construction as I learn the wonderful work of Squarespace, so I appriciate your understanding and/or cruel judgements.
About the comic -
This came to inspiration during a morning ride down the el. The "DO YOU THINK JESUS-" monologue came to mind so I pulled out my phone and began typing out the rest of the dialouge around it. Once I finalized the text, I blocked out the comic and wrote down the text first to see how it could all fit into one page. Afterwards I began mapping out the characters in the comic itself. Then I considered the characters and how they play in the space. The goal was to contrast this insecure dude sitting on a chair with someone who was getting ready for work. Making him a clown type guy came at the end of the penciling in. The giant centipede wearing a mask claiming to be St Pete came to mind when I realized St Pete sounds like centipede, and thus the omnipotent manipulator was born.
